Today is Day 83
Weight goal - 137.6 or lower
Actual weight - 140.2
Blood glucose goal - 77 or lower
Actual blood glucose - 72
Today is a Fast Day.
For me, that means that all I will have today is water, coffee, tea, or broth, all without caloric sweeteners or fat. Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.
I have to look at the big picture, though. My weight today is a lower high compared to my weight on other days that I have eaten the day before. So there is progress being made.
After I posted yesterday's blog entry, I looked back on my records to see when the last time was that I was the size I am now. It turns out that back in June 2011, I had the same measurements (within 1/8") and the same weight (within 0.2 pounds), so that means that it has taken me almost five years to get back to my lowest body size and weight since starting low carb back in 2009. And during that time, I was trying every low carb type of diet that I could find. I still have a little way to go to reach my goal of 136 pounds with 30% body fat. I have been tracking my body fat during this challenge, but I'm going to save that info for the big reveal next week.
I am also very pleasantly surprised and pleased to see that my FBG was only 72 this morning after a very full day of eating yesterday! This is real progress!
82 DAYS DOWN AND 9 DAYS TO GO
52 FEAST DAYS AND 31 FAST DAYS - FASTING 37% OF THE DAYS
13.8 POUNDS GONE AND 4.2 POUNDS TO GO
77% OF THE WAY TO MY GOAL AFTER 91% OF THE DAYS
7-DAY AVERAGE WEIGHT - 139.7
7-DAY AVERAGE FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE - 78
I made a few charts to track my progress. The grey lines are my long term goals. The blue lines are my actual results. The red lines are my 7-day averages. The last chart is a little heat map to show at a glance how often I have actually had to fast to achieve the results I am after. Click on any chart or photo to enlarge it.
