DAY 66 - 2016 WEIGHT LOSS AND BLOOD GLUCOSE CHALLENGE

Christmas Eve 2015

Today is Day 66

Weight goal - 141 or lower
Actual weight - 142

Blood glucose goal - 82 or lower
Actual blood glucose - 72

Today is a Feast Day!

For me, that means a ketogenic diet - high fat, moderate protein and very low carb.  Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.

According to my new rule of not having to fast two days in a row, I don't have to fast today, even though I didn't hit my goal for weight.

I did not make a new low after fasting yesterday.  If my weight starts creeping back up, I'll have no choice but to start fasting two days in a row if that's what it takes.  I'll just have to make sure to get really good nutrition on the days I do eat.

Yesterday, I had to fast while attending Concealed Carry training with Bill.  It wasn't too bad until I had to sit and watch Bill eat a Jimmy Johns Unwich!  It was a long day, and not easy, and I did cheat a little and have a Diet Coke.  Aside from that, it was water, coffee and beef broth.

I want to thank Bill for helping me with my motivation yesterday.  I was considering eating at lunch time, and was struggling menally, and I asked Bill, "What would the consequences be of me eating today?"  He said, "You would have to admit it on your blog and everyone would know."  BINGO!

Not only that, but I would probably end up having to fast again today and I did not want to do that.

Thanks, Sweetie!

65 DAYS DOWN AND 26 DAYS TO GO

I made a few charts to track my progress.  The yellow lines are my long term goals. The blue lines are my actual results.  The grey lines are my 7-day averages. The last chart is a little heat map to show at a glance how often I have actually had to fast to achieve the results I am after.

This is a personal challenge just for me, but if anyone reading would like to join me, please talk to your doctor and make sure that it will not conflict with your current medical condition or medications.  If you are taking the challenge, please be sure to let me know how you are doing!  Thanks for reading!
