Today is a Special Feast Day!
For me, that means a ketogenic diet - high fat, moderate protein and very low carb. Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.
And why is today a Special Feast Day, you might ask. Well, although my FBG is way below my goal after fasting for two days (60 total hours with only non-caloric liquids), my weight is still above my goal. Shouldn't I be fasting today?
The short answer is yes, I should be fasting.
The only slightly less short answer is, I refuse to fast three days in a row! I think I need some nourishment. Plus, I went shopping for special food yesterday and I want to eat something.
If I am over either goal tomorrow morning, I will fast then, and I am willing to fast two days if need be. As for today, I am eating like a queen!
