Today is Day 76
Weight goal - 139 or lower
Actual weight - 140.4
Blood glucose goal - 79 or lower
Actual blood glucose - 91
Today is a Fast Day.
For me, that means that all I will have today is water, coffee, tea, or broth, all without caloric sweeteners or fat. Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.
I did not do well eating yesterday. I was excited about getting to eat, and had bought food so I could make a baked egg dish with mushrooms, onions, spinach and cheese. But when I started to eat, I got a weird burning reaction on the roof of my mouth. That has happened before when I ate pancakes in the past, and it has happened recently when I ate coconut/almond flour pancakes. I'm not sure why it happens, but it has never happened when eating eggs.
The pain was so bad it was as though I was eating acid. I kept swishing my mouth with water, but it did not help. I had to stop eating, and would only take a little bite now and then to keep the burning down. I did finally finish my dish, but it took more than an hour. Weird.
Then, I worked through lunch and only had a couple of slices of deli corned beef and deli smoked gouda cheese that a coworker offered me. In late afternoon, I had avocado pudding, and then I started feeling sick to my stomach. We had beef roast and Brussels sprouts for dinner, and I only had a small helping, 4 ounces of beef and several sprouts.
Not a good day of eating, and I gained weight and my FBG went up again above my goal. At least it was a lower high than the past few times I have eaten.
75 DAYS DOWN AND 16 DAYS TO GO
49 FEAST DAYS AND 27 FAST DAYS - FASTING 36% OF THE DAYS
13.6 POUNDS GONE AND 4.4 POUNDS TO GO
76% OF THE WAY TO MY GOAL AFTER 84% OF THE DAYS
7-DAY AVERAGE WEIGHT - 140.3
7-DAY AVERAGE FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE - 86
I made a few charts to track my progress. The grey lines are my long term goals. The blue lines are my actual results. The red lines are my 7-day averages. The last chart is a little heat map to show at a glance how often I have actually had to fast to achieve the results I am after. Click on any chart or photo to enlarge it.
