At the moment my particular area of interest is my new grandson, just seven weeks old. I will be babysitting him two days a week beginning next week; and I think he is going to keep me pretty busy!
I began changing how I ate on 02/18/09 from the SAD to a low-carb diet. I first found Jimmy Moore's site "The Livin La Vida Show" and just keep following the links. He is a wonderful advocate for LC and trying to improve your health, and he is also a very giving person.
I was initially told by my VA Physicians Assistant that my triglycerides were way too high and so I started out to get them lower with the diet change. Along the way I lost forty-four pounds and have kept it off for about a year and a half now. I found out I had a problem with wheat that I had been unaware of. Now, my arthritis rarely gives me any grief, and I no longer have headaches five to six times a week. What's not to like about that!
I am not sure that I am going to be able to lose much more weight, but I am fine with that (although I truly would like to lose about ten more -- oh well.) I am 57 years old, 5'4 1/2" tall and was 181 lbs. and now weigh 137 lbs. and life is good!
I probably spend more time than I should trying to keep up with the LC and Paleo blogs that I have bookmarked, but I find those are the best places to find the most current research on relevant nutrition. So much of it I don't understand at all, and I have trouble retaining information, but I keep trying just the same.
Congratulations! You two are so beautiful together in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have been posting more as of late. I love your blog.

Thanks for sharing, Sue! It sounds like you have really found what works for you. Low carb is the healthiest way to eat, isn't it?
