DAY 36 - 2016 WEIGHT LOSS AND BLOOD GLUCOSE CHALLENGE

Today is Day 36.

Weight goal - 147 or lower
Actual weight - 145

Blood glucose goal - 89 or lower
Actual blood glucose - 92

Today is a Fast Day.



For me, that means that all I will have today is water, coffee, tea, or broth, all without caloric sweeteners or fat.  Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.

I know what happened.  I ate well at my luncheon yesterday, but was tempted by the fresh fruit plate.  There were lower carb choices on it, like blueberries and raspberries, but I also had some pineapple and grapes, which are two of the highest carb fruits there are.

Even while I was eating them, I was thinking it was a bad idea.  As I was biting into a little chunk of pineapple, I was thinking that I didn't want to fast the next day.  But I did it anyway.  I obviously need to work on this problem.  I need to say that there are certain foods I just don't eat.  I had no problem saying no to the garlic bread.  I need to add high carb fruit to that list and just stick to it!

So today I am paying the price.  Plus, I woke up sick this morning with a sore throat and stuffy nose.  And since the old (and probably true) adage says to starve a cold, I will be taking Zicam today and starving my cold.  Maybe I can turn it around.

I made a few charts to track my progress.  The orange lines are my goals. The blue lines are my actual results.  The last chart is a little heat map to show at a glance how often I actually have to fast to achieve the results I am after.
