DAY 33 - 2016 WEIGHT LOSS AND BLOOD GLUCOSE CHALLENGE

January 11, 2016

Today is Day 33.

Weight goal - 147.6 or lower
Actual weight - 146.6

Blood glucose goal - 89 or lower
Actual blood glucose - 95

Today is a Fast Day.

For me, that means that all I will have today is water, coffee, tea, or broth, all without caloric sweeteners or fat.  Each day, I will weigh in, check my fasting blood glucose, find out if I will feast or fast that day, update my chart and post it here on the big blog. I'm posting it to motivate myself not to give up, and if I think that anyone is looking at this, it will help to keep me accountable.

I really have no idea why my blood glucose is up this morning.  I was making an effort to feast well yesterday, and had BPC and bacon for breakfast, homemade chicken salad and a small square of dark chocolate for lunch, and chicken gizzards with onions, mushrooms and sour cream for dinner.

Is it possible that only a few grams of dark chocolate could be doing this?  The next day I eat (which I assume will be tomorrow), I will have another square and check my blood glucose one and two hours after eating it and see if it is a problem for me.

I was not expecting to fast this morning due to blood glucose and I'm rather bummed.  We have a beef roast that we are pressure cooking tonight, and I guess Bill will be eating alone.  He better not eat the whole thing!

32 DAYS DOWN AND  59 DAYS TO GO

25 FEAST DAYS AND 8 FAST DAYS - FASTING 24% OF THE DAYS

7.4 POUNDS GONE AND 10.6 POUNDS TO GO

41% OF THE WAY TO MY GOAL AFTER 36% OF THE DAYS

AVERAGE WEIGHT SO FAR - 148.5     AVERAGE BLOOD GLUCOSE SO FAR - 88

I made a few charts to track my progress.  The orange lines are my goals. The blue lines are my actual results.  The last chart is a little heat map to show at a glance how often I actually have to fast to achieve the results I am after.

This is a personal challenge just for me, but if anyone reading would like to join me, please talk to your doctor and make sure that it will not conflict with your current medical condition or medications.  If you are taking the challenge, please be sure to let me know how you are doing!  Thanks for reading!
