It was so horrible, it had a sharp almost rancid flavor to it, my dogs would not even eat it. But then I tried the nutiva and it was so delicious. I vowed never to buy oils from NOW foods again.Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15440219137767752255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4003308285087547153.post-64286755750274904672012-07-19T12:42:21.522-05:002012-07-19T12:42:21.522-05:00Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT's) are fats th...Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT's) are fats that are naturally found in coconut and palm kernel oil. MCT's are more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats, as they require lower amounts of enzymes and bile acids for intestinal absorption. MCT's are metabolized very quickly in the liver and are reported to encourage an increase in energy expenditure, while decreasing fat storage. Numerous studies suggest that substituting MCT Oil for other fats in a healthy diet may therefore help to support healthy weight and body composition. I buy mine (NOW brand) at Amazon.com.

Of course, you do not need to use MCT oil to make your own mayo - I just like to use it for all the above reasons. Many people just make it with light tasting olive oil.Rebecca Lathamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08315286756185845150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4003308285087547153.post-41524640775946065812012-07-19T12:39:07.390-05:002012-07-19T12:39:07.390-05:00Hi there, I'm new here - what is MCT? When I make mine, it is 1/3 olive oil, 1/3 MCT oil and 1/3 coconut oil.

I'm looking forward to seeing your ketone numbers come up.Rebecca Lathamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08315286756185845150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4003308285087547153.post-61734876819269959652012-07-19T12:18:19.651-05:002012-07-19T12:18:19.651-05:00Your results are good, this is encouraging to me.
...Your results are good, this is encouraging to me.
I started testing on Tuesday, had .2, yesterday my meter said LOW so that was under .1 and today I was at .4.
I knew it would take a couple of days to get there but I started testing as motivation to get my diet adjusted. I started with 14 strips. I might have to buy more.
I think I ate too much chicken on Tuesday night, I was away from home and did not have a food scale and was not being mindful enough I guess.
I did buy a bottle of macadamia nut oil and have been pouring that over my meat the last couple of days. It is really tasty. I think I will make some mayo from it too.
Thanks for the update, it is good motivation!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15440219137767752255noreply@blogger.com
